Cortical LORETA and CLARA – plus other exciting new features in BESA Research 6.1 and BESA MRI 2.0

We are proud to release BESA Research 6.1 in October 2015 containing the new source analysis methods Cortical LORETA and Cortical CLARA.

It is now possible to use the individual cortex as source space for LORETA and CLARA analysis. BESA Research truly computes the solution on the individual cortex, which is superior to other approaches which simply project the source solution onto the cortex.

The user has the choice to display the results of Cortical LORETA and CLARA on an inflated version of the individual cortex or on the realistic anatomy.
Apart from the new cortical source analysis methods, BESA Research 6.1 also provides new realistic children’s head models for various age groups, with templates ranging from 0 years to 20 years. These were generated by innovative non-linear co-registration methods (brain templates kindly provided by John E. Richards, Univ of South Carolina) and then applying the FEM modelling and cortex segmentation technologies of BESA MRI.
Last but not least, BESA Research 6.1 also provides new source montages for resting state networks. Source montages are available for the Default Mode Network, the Fronto-Parietal Task Control network, as well as Dorsal and Ventral Attention networks. These montages can be used for swiftly analyzing resting state data.
BESA Research 6.1 will be released by the end of October, but it can already be ordered! Order now to secure a one-off special price… Please see the news section “Halloween Special”.
A new update for BESA MRI 2.0 will also become available in October. Existing customers with BESA MRI licenses can then simply download the free update. New BESA Research customers who also order a BESA MRI license can secure a one-off special price… Please see the news section “Halloween Special”.
